Why Do You Follow People?

I mean…really

Adapted image from Giedrius Stakauskas on Canva

I’m glad that people follow me, I really do. But when I look closely at some profiles, I tend to get suspicious about the real reasons.

This is how my brain works:

If the new follower doesn’t underline, clap or comment on any of my entries it probably means he/she just wants me to follow back for the numbers.

Consequences:

I don’t follow back.

This is why:

I want to engage with people who genuinely resonate with my writings.

What I want:

To exchange learnings and experiences to grow together.

After having said all this, I’m curious; What is your “following” mental process?

Support the gang: use my referral link to become a Medium member so other great writers and I can keep producing enlightening and transformational content for you to grow and keep learning.
