Why do we do it?
When in our hearts we always know
Why do we do it? Spend days, months and years in denial Convincing ourselves, if I don’t look in the corner, it is not there.
Why do we do it? Readily bury parts of ourselves in the sand, and knowingly let go We wait for the ground to swallow, and in return we watch the world swell up with whatever we are not willing to admit
Why do we do it? Accept the heavy price of anonymity in conformance and deny ourselves the happiness a little courage would graciously reward
Maybe it is existent about owning the label, I am …. Maybe because we know there is something in the catalyst of admission that ignites an unstoppable chain reaction of emotions and events
The wise parts of us, know in our ownership It is always more than I am Once put out there, it will be bigger than anything we could imagine and endure Bigger than what we can carry alone
Perhaps, that is why we easily dismiss a life that requires more than our company Because in our minds we believe our thoughts and actions only exist and we must forever walk alone
But walking alone is a choice misguided at times, misunderstood in and by others
Because we don’t have to be alone
Often we need to mix the right cocktail of knowledge and experience for our minds to accept what our hearts know all along
Why do we do it?
