Why do people in charge do these things?
Basically, I am asking what is going on?
Some years ago, our government introduced a law forbidding parents from taking their children out of school during term time and taking them on a family holiday.
There are many reasons why parents do this. The main reason being the cost of a holiday is a third cheaper in term time.
Another reason being that one or both parents cannot get time off during the school holidays.
But whatever the reasons, the government insists that a child’s education must have priority over family holidays. To enforce this, they introduced fines of £60 for each child, if the parents break this law.
This must be paid within 21 days. Failure to do this the fine increases to £120 per child.
They are adamant that a child must not miss a day’s education.
So, it is strange to hear that a young child was suspended from school for four days because his mother had put a cheese biscuit in his lunch pack.
Parent cannot take their children on holiday, as it may damage their education, but the food police can ban a child from school for something he did not do.
Children are being sent home for minor school uniform infringements.
Recently a boy was sent home because his socks did not meet the school’s uniform dress code.
The dress code Stasi can send a child home for something they did not have any control over.
So, a child’s education must not be interrupted unless they have the wrong socks on, or a cheese biscuit in their lunch box.
Why do the people in charge do these things?
Because they can.
