Why Do I Use Google Trends for All My Business
my real experience with Google Trends
I have been using Google Trends for all my businesses for the last two years!
My online business involves -
- Writing/Blogging/ebooks
- Affiliate Marketing
- E-commerce for selling niche products
When I was starting out I never knew much about Keywords, tags, and so on. These terms were alien to me and I never was much interested because research was not my thing.
I hated every bit of it.
But slowly things needed to be changed with time. You cannot stick to your past habits forever. If the world is changing and becoming more successful in making money out of it then we should too.
I wasn’t using AI before but now I am using it for my other small side hustles!
My first encounter with Google Trends
12 years back no one was interested in Keywords and Tags while publishing on Amazon KDP. All they do was write the book and hit publish.
This was with all the writers and sometimes I have seen bloggers as well who were driving traffic through social media sites completely.
It was all about the number game at the time.
But slowly there came a shift. A different game started. The focus changed from the book quality to the keywords and tags you use to publish your books.
The competition involved — finding low-competition keywords to draw as much traffic as possible.
If you find a keyword that has more searches and less competition (competition means fewer books are published in that niche) then the chances of sales will always be high.
And this I have seen myself.
Now many writers spend time finding low-competition keywords than writing their books.
And this actually is not wrong. With all those millions of books (thousands in any niche) were enough for your book to go unnoticed. We don’t have many chances, do we?
How I Used Google Trends to write my Books
I have written business and programming books and still use Google Trends for my ebook research.
A time comes when you are just out of ideas and at that time the best thing is to just find the proper keywords for more micro-niches that your eyes are not able to catch.
What tools do I use for my business?
- First I will type the word on Google Trends to see if the keyword is trendy or not.
- Then I would type the word on Google Planner to come up with more related keywords
- And then I use Google to find the related questions. Questions are always the best.
The other ways to do keyword research -
- AnswerThePublic
- Facebook Forums
- Reddit forums of the related niche (my favorite one)
How I use Google Trends In my E-commerce Site
I have an e-commerce site in the music niche. I sell music — related products. I advertise only on Instagram because my community is there. One keyword took off and I am now selling that single product every single month. Yes, the trends go down after a while, and that’s okay. But this proved that my techniques worked!
Conclusion
Now I am using Google Trends for almost everything. The tab is open from morning till night. I keep on researching for my ebooks, for my articles, and so on. This never stops.
I hope you will now start using this awesome tool and get those untapped keywords and micro-niches that our eyes cannot catch!
