Why Did Medium Remove The Ability to Write Stories From It’s App?

It Was The Best Thing Ever

Friends, I wrote an article a few weeks ago about my editing superpowers. Yes, I did this BEFORE Tim Denning decided to sell a course about it. So you know, it’s absolutely my idea.

One big reason I explained in that piece was that it was easy to write on the app while I was going about my very busy life, which includes running a non-profit where I have to wait on other people a lot. For donations. For meetings. For events, if I am early.

Then in the mornings, with a fresh mind and coffee, I edit these pieces. I spend more time editing than writing. I bet you do too.

Now, Medium has removed my + from the app and it is no longer possible to compose away from the laptop. UGH. This is a major bummer. It has my life totally derailed.

Why, Medium? I did see the email but it doesn’t explain WHY it was removed.

This was a nice feature to have, although I mainly write articles in Notes first then transfer them to the app in the evening so I can edit in the morning.

In all honesty, this change removes features instead of improving features. When can we expect to get this feature back? I am optimistic, you see. Maybe this is temporary?

Can anyone shed light on this?

My life is so much better with that little (+). I miss it.
