Although the iPhone was successful and had some impressive features such as a multi-touch screen, a camera, and basic productivity apps, it didn’t have any unique features that other technology companies couldn’t eventually replicate in their own smartphones.

The iPhone became the revolutionary smartphone in the market because of what happened in 2008.

In Feb of 2008, Apple released an SDK for developers to create apps for the iPhone, and in July 2008, Apple announced the App Store with around 500 apps available for download.

Today, there are nearly 4 million apps in the App Store, and last year alone, the App Store grossed more than 85 billion in sales.

What made the App store so revolutionary for Apple? one word…

In 2022, ChatGPT was released, and because of the revolutionary innovation and huge success, we experienced a new iPhone moment.
