Why Can’t We Hear Our True Voice Within Us? How To Focus On Ourself Consistently?

Let’s reset and get aligned with some practical techniques I like

Have you felt you’re experiencing the time? I mean feel the time. FEEL IT. If yes, how did it feel? If not, do you wanna feel it?

It might be hard to answer.

Sometimes I am thinking, ok. Sophia, what exactly do you want? Why can’t I understand you? Tell me, I’m listening. I just want to give my heart a mic so I can hear her. | Picture by me

It’s ok. Let’s imagine if time is a dish or music, how do you feel with time? Is there any adjective you might be able to come up with to describe it?

Yesterday, while I was in the bathroom washing my face at night, I suddenly had a strong sensation of time. It feels like in this world, there is only the sky, the ground, myself. And the time. Nothing else and no one else. I felt peaceful and was at ease. It’s like we’re living in a transparent, undefinable tunnel which is called time.

I found that when I can sense I am owning the time by my own will instead of the time controlling me, I am more engaged in it happily.

Let’s take I want my life to be happy.

Here’s my List of Happy Moments

  1. Talking to my bf at night after a long day, making jokes, sharing our life
  2. Spending time with my mom, take her for a stroll, cook with her, and discuss how to tailor the clothes I have. Thank u, Mom.
  3. Having fun with my crazy yet cute niece and nephew
  4. Reading at night on my lovely bed with some music
  5. Lying on the bed with closed eyes while it is raining outside and listening to the sound of rain. Let the wave of my emotion slow down
  6. Drawing, trying to mix the color till I like in the art studio
  7. Hiking in the mountains, hearing the sound of rivers, birds, and wind
  8. Lying on the beach in the early morning, maybe take a nap on it
  9. Writing my journal, pull out all my thoughts on the paper while with music on
  10. Eating hot pot in winter, having ice cream in summer
  11. Learning whatever I want to learn
  12. Dancing with the right dining partner
  13. More to explore and add to this list…

How do you feel about the time now?

It might be sweet, calm, soft, laughs, hot, cold…etc. There are always a lot of feeling in us that we love. Let’s make your happy moment list down, and put them in the dashboard so that we can always go back to the happy moment.

Now, how would you like to have our dish better?

(A) Having the dish nicely, take some time on it, fully enjoy and engage it. (B) Having the dish as fast as possible

I like to go for (A) as long as I am not rushing to anything at the moment. Do you feel I hear you better now? I do.

Next, how to consistently stick to ourselves without going in the direction we don’t want without awareness?

How easily I could get distracted from others.| Picture by me

In the picture above, the pink one is me while I was in a race in my childhood. I always looked at those people who were faster than me, but I didn’t even notice that I was running into their path. Ha Ha Ha~When I noticed that I had to adjust, but I stepped into their track again. I just couldn’t help myself comparing to them all the way. And I lose the race.

After that race, my teacher came to talk to me saying “You have to focus on yourself instead of looking at others down the track like this”.

She is right. I simply got distracted too easily even if I knew my destination.

This distraction appears in my daily life as well

Since most of the time I work for myself, I either get distracted or work overtime and then burn out.

I desperately need something like that teacher to remind me: Hey, you spend too much time on something unnecessary now. Hey, don’t look at others, focus on yourself.

A lot of people might know the “Pomodoro Timer “or “ Toggle Track”. I’ve used both of them, but I can’t stick with them for more than 3 days.

Why can’t I stick to Pomodoro Timer

Well, It’s just because I always forgot to press the start button or end button. Hahaha

I just want to get straight to work instead of clocking in what I’m going to do at my computer.

But Pomodoro Timer just got me like…

I don’t know how many days someone can last to use Pomodoro Timer, if you are, I admire that! | Picture by me

How can anyone always remember to press the bottom of Pomodoro Timer, tell me who is that…

I have wondered why they couldn’t just detect what I was working on and remind me that I needed to focus or take a break.

And Guys!! Dala~~~~~ This is the app that solved all the obstacles I faced.

I’d like to share with you my newly loved App “ Rize “

Here are some of the great features I love

  1. Automatic Time Tracking Yes! you don’t need to press any bottom anymore. This is the best of it.

Small breaks in between give us better energy in the long term | Picture by me
It kept showing notifications while I was texting my boyfriend. Hahaha, OK OK. Good Job! Rize! I like you. | Picture by me.

3. Clear Widget Design

4. Get to “see” where you spend your time.

It is shown by action, category, or project. It is categorized automatically which saves our time, but of course, you can create or rename them.

After using it, I’m more aware of where I spend my time on my laptop, and I get more focus with notifications like a teacher beside me lol. I’ve got a clear picture without clocking by myself, everything is automatic.

What’s the point of knowing how much time you spend?

Well, so that I can better plan my schedule to reduce of cause of being over-stressed due to underestimating or over-estimating. It helps.

Or if your boss always makes you overwork, you can show them how much time each task can consume, show them the reality. lol

It is also recommended by a smart guy

You know what? The Youtuber Ali Abdaal is one of their loyal users. What’s more, he is even their angel investor. Ali Abdal is truly a master of productivity, and he is right, Rize is such an awesome product.
