Why can’t my dream come true?

Why can’t my dream come true? My arms around you, wiping your shirt with my tears, You say “I’m sorry my dear,” I sob, “I can’t save the world from despair.”

Why can’t my dream come true? Let love, peace and wonder prevail, Soak in the bliss, shake off only laughter, Smile as if everyone is baby or toy.

Why can’t my dream come true? Plant flowers yet let weeds grow, See them intertwine As life, laughter and joy.

Why can’t my dream come true? Every fiber of my being revolts At what we have become, Entertained by the horrific, united in unhappy news.

Why can’t my dream come true? Heaven would be our earth with us as angels, Kindness as shield, hugs as the glory, We’d be swaying with the dancing wind.

Why can’t my dream come true? It is so real in my mind.
