Why Blogging Is Beneficial For Creators In The Long-Run
Your stories deserve to be heard, and the road doesn’t have to end on Medium.

When we write, we experience lots of physical and mental benefits that make our bodies feel phenomenal.
In addition to the health benefits writing does for us, it also prepares us for future content we can create.
Platforms such as YouTube, Patreon, and Medium offer creators several different avenues that we can go down with our content.
I recently had an article about “Why I Give 50 Claps On Every Article I Read” blow up on Medium, which got me super pumped about its engagement. The great thing about expanding your creativity is that the road of your content’s virality doesn’t have to stop here on Medium.
Using your content on multiple platforms
Because the piece went so viral and emitted an overall positive response from the public, I plan on utilizing its content on multiple platforms.
Famous entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk discusses creating macro content and distributing in microdoses across multiple platforms.
All it takes is one unique viewer to see your work and make some arrangements to transform your life.
To spread the content of my article, all I would need to do is re-word the information into a more intriguing fashion that will grab viewers’ attention on YouTube.
On the other hand, if I were asked to be a guest on someone’s podcast, I want to narrow down my best points into the most eloquent way possible that makes listeners’ ears perk up.
As far as utilizing your writing for your Patreon (podcast, show, or stream), all you’ll have to do is highlight the key sections of your article that offer the most value to your fans and elaborate on those ideas.
Blogging is basically writing out the script you can then use in videos, podcasts, interviews, or anything else you can think of. Your information remains intact. The only change is the method in which you share your information.
The research or expertise has already been documented once you publish it on Medium. All that leaves you to do is shine the content in a different light should you want to.
Once you can get into a consistent rhythm of writing and utilizing other platforms, you can combine all your skills needed to run your own business.
At this point, if you are producing content at a significant scale, you will be noticed by brands, influencers, and other collaborative creators.
Once your content takes off, you can choose between many different streams of different income.
These streams include the following:
- Selling personal merchandise
- Offering premium deals with affiliate marketing
- Selling an eBook
- Selling an online course
Good news for entrepreneurs
If you are currently or aspiring to be an entrepreneur, then writing on Medium is an excellent stepping stone for achieving your goals as a content creator.
The written word will always be one of the most preferred methods of extracting information. Reading offers no distractions and allows you to decipher the content in your mind.
Don’t forget to help lift others while you are on your journey as a rising star.
Ways to support others along the way include giving them a shoutout or even creating a piece just for them. Show love for that one person who has been supporting you since you had only three followers.
In addition to getting more attention online, you must prioritize the community you’ve built up and take care of them.
Your community follows leaders like you because you make them feel better overall, and you give them someone to seek positive inspiration from.
Since I am currently deployed, I am unable to start my podcast or upload a YouTube video without it getting interrupted.
So for right now, just Medium will do.
Stay tuned for my return home because writing will still be coming in fresh off the press, but so will other forms of media!
Isn’t creating content great? I almost feel bad for people who don’t have the spark to create anything. But I’m not going to judge the way they live their lives.
Creating is just ridiculously fulfilling that I feel like everyone can benefit from it.
Do you know your next move?
For those of you questioning whether you’ll be blogging a year from now, just realize that this isn’t a waste of time. Your writing will live online forever, and the royalties from your articles will continue for years to come.
Think about it. That’s extra gas money, grocery money, or enough to help out a friend every month.
Even if you don’t stick with writing stories, you will have dozens of scripts ready in case you want to present your ideas in other forms of media.
It’s easy to doubt our skills and potential, but as long as we are creating something that makes us happy, we will come out of this victorious.
Try not to listen to the other voices telling you that your dreams are impossible. Just because they never developed the courage to start their process, doesn’t mean they need to project their frustrations out on you.
Once you block out all of the noise around you, it gets really quiet and you’re able to hear the only voice that truly matters, your own.
