Summary

Destiny S. Harris wakes up early to manage her time effectively and increase productivity, a habit she developed through a process of iteration.

Abstract

Destiny S. Harris has been questioned about her early morning routine. She explains that while sleeping in is enjoyable and beneficial for rest, she chooses to rise early to ensure she has enough time to accomplish her daily goals. Harris acknowledges that for her, staying up late to complete tasks isn't feasible due to her tendency to fall asleep. By waking up early, she can address her priorities before the day's demands take over. This practice was not inherent but discovered through experimentation and adaptation. Harris points out that many people, including her past self, struggle to complete all necessary tasks within a day and suggests that an early start could be the solution. She invites readers to join her newsletter for daily motivational content and free books, and to read more of her articles on achieving goals.

Why Are You Waking Up So Early?

Sleep in a little

Someone called me out and asked why the hell do I wake up so early. I responded it’s part of my process.

Sleeping in is nice. I like to do it to rest my body. However, when you have goals and sh*t to do, you realize there is often not enough time in the day after the day gets started.

Before the day gets started, you need some time to tackle a few priorities.

For some people, it’s easier to tackle things later at night. I tend to fall asleep at night, which means if I don’t get up early enough, it impacts my productivity significantly.

Are you accomplishing everything you need to within a given day? Most people’s answer is no, as was mine until I started getting up early. I came to find out this would work best for me through the process of iterating.
