Why Are You Missing Your Moments?
Your life is a collection of moments
Our days are made up of a collection of moments.
It’s in these moments that we are able to make a difference — and our memories, too.
However, we can waste so many moments by letting them go by without even noticing how awesome they could be.
We just let them happen. Maybe we need to view them differently.
Have you ever noticed how the day flies by? You can let the minutes get away from you.
However, you don’t have to. Each moment can count as more — if you are intentional about them.
Lesson to Learn
We can easily forget that our days are a collection of moments in time.
Each one is uniquely available for us to use. When we add them all up, we get our day.
How we view these moments is so vital to how we will experience our day.
If we understand that this moment is a choice, we can use it more intentionally.
We can begin to create incredible days linked together by unique moments.
One of the greatest threats to our memorable moments is our tendency to rush. We move quickly from moment to moment without much thought.
In doing so, we miss a lot.
These are lost moments that can then become lost days. If we do this for too long, we will miss the chance to create the life we want.
Answer for Me
I am now in my mid-fifties. So much of my life has been lived.
I am hopeful for many more years ahead, but we have no guarantees. All we get is the moment we live in now.
As I get older, I am more aware of the importance of my moments, days, weeks, and years. But I can’t live beyond each moment.
My moments have now become my building block for a better-lived life.
My focus is now on my experience of the day. What is left for me to do? How does today fit into that picture? How will I use this moment to make my desired life an outcome?
I no longer wish to rush to the next moment.
Whatever I am experiencing is what I want to feel fully. Whether it be joy, pain, sorrow, or even boredom — it’s what I need to feel.
Action
Begin to examine how you feel about your moments during your day.
What are you experiencing — and what are you missing?
How could you live differently?
What do you want to keep the same?
By examining your life in moments, you will get a greater appreciation for what moments you most would like to have.
Learn to see life as a series of moments.
Doing so will give you greater control over how you live. Moments are fleeting.
Don’t let them rush past you! Seize the moments that make up your day.
Daily Actions
Take time today to prepare for your moments.
Be open to what your moments become. Experience them completely.
Savor the moments. Move on from moments when you are ready.
Reflect on your moments during the day and pivot to what you still want to do with your day.
Collect your moments at the end of the day by reviewing them and recording them.
When you see each day as a collection of moments, you can take control of them daily, learn from them, grow from them, and prepare yourself for tomorrow’s moments.
Life goes quickly. Make your moments count!
