Whose Voices Do I Hear?

When all the voices don’t stop, I will still listen and choose.

My mind won’t stop or be quiet All the voices interrupting and yelling Who’s there? Why are you bothering me? Do I know you? What do you want?

One speaks of harm and loathing I’m not worth the love offered He tells me to retaliate with hate No! Devil, I know the lies you feed me.

Another speaks of dreams and passions My life will give a voice to others’ needs She tells me to keep writing till all have heard Yes! Inner Me, I know the truth you share.

The last voice was faint, a whisper He poured out His love for ALL of me He says He made me for joy, everlasting God, that IS you. I wasn’t sure. You were quiet.

I don’t need to yell. I am always right beside you.
