Who Would Your Dinner Guests Be?.

If You Can Choose Anyone Dead Or Alive.

I have been thinking about this for the last two days and I’m going to choose four guests. Including myself that makes five at the table.

Barack Obama is a person who seems extremely endearing and media-friendly. He was also the first black president of the USA. I think he would bring a lot to the table.

The fact he was able to get a little closure from 9/11 with the assassination of Osma Bin Laden is an intriguing piece of history.

Winston Churchill would be my next guest. His leadership skills are somewhat unique and I would like to learn more about them.

The problematic part of being in power during World War 2.

His stoic resolve and rousing speeches (“We will fight them on the beaches”.)are embedded in history. Not forgetting his massive cigars.

Sir Alex Ferguson is the third person on my guest list. He is a football icon and legend.

He dragged Manchester United off the football scrap heap and created a philosophy of winning that I never get tired of talking about.

He has an invested interest in horse racing which is another reason why I want him on the guest list.

He also led Manchester United to the Treble in 1999. Which is a metaphorical holy grail in the world of football?

Lastly, because I have seen her popularity gradually grow as I have grown up and also the fact she went to the same school as I did in North Wales.

Carol Vorderman is a Mathematical genius and television personality.

She can also fly aeroplanes to which is by no means a straight forward task.

Many people forget that when she started on the television programme “Countdown”.

The fact she was a lady who is extremely intelligent and attractive and highly driven was unheard of because of the sexist outlook in 80’s culture. She broke the mould.

My menu would consist of five courses.

Starters.

Prawn, Crab & Avocado salad with citrus dressing.

Porkbelly, Quale’s egg & Black pudding with pea & mint and orange purée.

Leek & Potato soup is the vegetarian option.

Intermediate.

Mini Salmon fajitas.

Main Course.

Lamb Henry and garlic roasted potatoes with tender stem broccoli and a Malbec jus.

Mousaka instead of the Lamb Henry is the vegetarian option.

Sweets.

Sticky Toffee Pudding & Custard.

De-constructed White chocolate cheesecake and raspberry sorbet.

Illumination Logo.

Coffee and artisan sweet cookies. Followed by petit fours.

The fact I can cook helps. However, everything is pretty straight forward that is on the menu.

I think it would be a fantastic dining experience.

Once again I’m going to suggest this to Timothy Key as another writing prompt.
