Who We Are and Who Is the Answer to Why
A poem celebrating separate mysteries and unifying oneness

We are the minuscule dewdrops in the nourishing rain cloud that spills generous tears of unambiguous joy from our One God.
We are the vibratory waves that drum alive with thunder, the singsong wonder of thirsty pores drinking in the wind.
We are wonder itself, blooming and expansive.
We are gratitude, we are the blessed who celebrate the bounty of our blessings.
We are the lush greenery of drizzle-filled summers, the rustling step-crunch of autumn leaves, the deep-bear hibernations of many long winters.
And we are spring again, enraptured, reborn, reemergent, reenergized, reintroduced to all that we’ve never lost, all that will always be with us.
We are the strident cries of unseen banshees, the singsong chirps of flitting sparrows.
We are the water we drink, tears we cry, fish swimming in the vast untold oceans of our hearts.
We are the one habitat, divine vine, true branches, innumerable mansions in the spiritual realm.
We are the sweat of good labor, the relief of shade, food to eat, food for thought, energy spent, matter at rest.
We are breath embodied, breath released, mysterious beings of light and awe, dancing without trying, sanctified by the enduring rush of free-flowing grace, carried away by a wind that sings, blowing where it will.
