Who is She?

— A poem for women

She is strong in will, to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

The doubted clouds can not break her,

She knew the night would end soon,

She is far-sighted,

and can see beyond the darkness,

And view the shadows from the ray.

She faces the world with a smile,

Unflinching, unafraid;

And laughed at fate, and life’s despair,

At sorrow, loss, and pain.

She stands still like a rock,

Though storms and tempests raged;

For she knew how to wait and trust,

and find out light in the darkness.
