This is Me.

My name is Kira. On Medium I go by Kira Dawn. Also known by The Gorgeous Mess.
I started the Publication - The Intoxicating Unhinged Mind. I am The Founder, an editor and a writer.

I will give you a quick breakdown of some of my accomplishments:
- I graduated from University of Miami on the Dean’s Honors List with a BS in Psychology and a minor in English Literature.
I did not go on further with my studies as I had developed issues with addiction along the way which made it more and more difficult for my parents to take me seriously.
- I have been sober 8+ years
I have always loved to write so finding Medium was a great outlet for me to start telling my story. I will always be extremely honest, vulnerable and feel like I have been placed here for a reason. I feel I have a purpose from God and that purpose is to help people. People who are struggling and don’t really want to talk about it.
I am an advocate for: anti-bullying, non-judgmental people, no bullsh*t and kindness to everybody. I place a huge emphasis on Spirituality, Jesus and God as without them I would not be alive. Living over 8 years sober today.
This journey is not for me to know…nor do I want to. I live in the present. Don’t look behind…the past doesn’t exist and don’t look ahead. The future brings a fear of the unknown. All we have is today.
