Who inspires you?
a poem

who inspires you? asked my fifth-grade teacher, when we practiced the art of a hamburger shaped five-paragraph essay.
who inspires you? asked self-improvement authors as they pushed and sold one-stop solutions to all of the world’s unhappiness.
what I learned then was that maybe for too long I thought role models and sources of inspiration had to be famous billionaires, world-changing philanthropists, thought-provoking philosophers
to the detriment of noticing the precious lessons learned from interacting with each and every human being that I came across.
Who inspires you? I’d like to ask you now, not as your fifth-grade teacher not as a self-improvement writer, but as some stranger who has somehow intersected with your life in this very moment.
Who — around you — inspires you the most?
Tagging Tally | Em Hoccane | h.a wadi| Anthi Psomiadou | Amy Marley | Pierre Trudel | Tim Varner if you’re up to it and anyone else interested in today’s prompt: who inspires you?
Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) finds inspiration in the tv show watches, the songs she listens to, even some random tweet about mangoes??? Something like that. There’s inspiration in almost everything if you have … enough question marks stored inside you, waiting to burst out.
