Who Are We Beyond Man-Meets-Machine Too Muchness?

What do we hear in this place?

Image of author, by Bobbi Barbarich

Carving off a corner of silence — learning to finally be alone with it all — opens us first, to listening.

To the voice of all that came before, all that is, all that will be. To our own voice and that which is voiceless.

No need for words or constructs formed of sound in this place.

To make words is to make do with…metaphor. To swallow the silence and sound of the whole is to swim with…Source.

It’s dark here, sometimes. And sometimes filled with brilliant light.

Refracted through ocean waves and leafy canopies. Far above. All around. Containing worlds. Containing…everything.

From this place, from stillness and silence and the origin of darkness and light, arises the capacity to hear beyond everyday hearing. Beyond man-meets-machine too muchness.

We hear now, finally, the colour green and the moss songs. We hear now, at long last, the curve of an eyelash and serenade of stars.

In this place, we know no answers and have no opinions. In this place, where rightness and righteousness fall away, we can finally…rest.

Shhh. Here now. Just here. No words. No defence. No proclaiming or showing or telling. Those pass away…anyway.

In this place, we make an invitation. We open to what is unknown and uncertain and we stay.

No longer resisting. No longer piling atop and drowning out. Shhh. Hush now. Right here. Right here.

Thank you for reading. I’m a doctor of Chinese Medicine and write about sobriety and soulful living. Find all my links here:
