Who Am I Talking To?
The Selves confuse me
In a quiet sunlit cafe courtyard, as we sipped our drinks, I handed over the requested copy of my book, A Mind Beyond Words, to an old friend. We’d known each other for many years, and she already knew quite a bit about Asher: how he was once my pupil, gradually became a friend and latterly my teacher. She knew the book documented that strange relationship and that it dealt with the telepathic communications we now have and the revelations he sends me from ‘The Realms’. She said she was eager to read it.
“So you’re now communicating with his Higher Self?” she asked, tapping the book.
“Well he insists that’s not the case,” I replied. “He calls it his Telepathic Self, and says the two are different, but I don’t really understand how.”
It occurred to me then, as it has many times in the past, that I really ought to understand the difference. I’m the one who wrote this book, after all. I decided to tackle Asher on it and try to obtain a definitive answer.
No point in asking his physical self. That aspect of him chooses to converse via WhatsApp on only the most prosaic of subjects — the weather, his journey to work, his general health and so forth. Questions about the subtle communications and those Realms he explores are left unanswered, so I waited and asked him telepathically, during one of our evening sessions.
Jes: A channelled book I’m reading by Keith Hill speaks of how we all have a human self and a spiritual self. It seems to describe your journey pretty closely — stepping over the threshold and entering the non-embodied realm. It speaks of being able to meet your spiritual self, who has an overview of all your incarnations and accumulated knowledge. So is that who I’m conversing with?
Asher: Think of the spiritual self like white light hitting a prism and becoming a rainbow. There are not hard dividing lines, but a gradation of tones. The higher self is the part of that spectrum that recalls all other lives, as described in the book you’re reading. The information I have given, and am giving you, comes from that Higher Self. I can, as your book suggests, ‘sit at his feet’ and gain knowledge. I envisage it more as discovering information from an infinite library.
‘I’ — the aspect of me you are in dialogue with — am the communicator. My role is to pass that information to you via our telepathic discussions. So my ‘job’ as Telepathic Self is to act as a conduit between Higher Self and you. Yours is to act as a conduit between telepathic me and other embodied humans by writing the book and your articles elsewhere. We are stepping the wisdom down to make it readily accessible to people who are keen to know what we have to share.
Jes: Okay, I see the difference now. Thank you.
So just as those pretty little electronic resistors (Oh, I need to write a whole article about those soon!) step down the energy entering a circuit, so Asher and I step down the wisdom and energy that comes from his Higher Self, to share it with others.
That is what my friend will be reading in her new copy of my book.
