Let’s do Democracy over, and get it right

My life is worn out. What more can I do? Well, I could imagine something better than what I know to be true about my adopted country. So what if another megalomaniac is threatening the world? There’s been so many.

I regret my filthy education, that I’m not a leader, that I’ve chosen a life of amusement, dreaming of fantastic worlds, monstrous loves, acrobats, beggars, and bandits who become priests…a life of believing I could escape modern suffering through art…through my poorly written stories…but finally, I see my punishment.

My country has lost its moral backbone. Instead of common sense, moral justice, liberty for ALL, it is a country suffering with politico mania.

What crippling misfortune are we moving toward, America? We are engaged in a perfect storm of insanity beset by so many points of mistrust. Where is our strength to challenge back, threaten back, strike fear into those who dare try to intimidate us?

If I stay awake long enough, I’m watching America look down upon weeping angels. Have we cultivated a fog so thick even common sense cannot see through it?

No! I won’t be defeatist, even at this late stage. Surely, I will live long enough to see a revolt against anger and division. The world has no ages; humanity has learned to move from place to place. I am a western man, at liberty to live in the Orient if I choose.

Worms of indecency have crawled into powerful places, heartless, aged figures promoting autocracy, racism, power, and nothing we can do seems to send these worms back into the soil.

Let us accept a new strength, America let us detest division and appreciate our differences. Let us replace ultimate power with ultimate tenderness and use our fullest force against those who deny liberty and freedom to ALL. At dawn, let’s forget our patience with anyone who denigrates humanity, or abuses the idea of truth with falsehoods, and ignorance.

Let’s be modern and not accept those who would move humanity backward. Let’s face the truth. There are men in this world who need sending back into the soil, their skin corroding with dirt, their armpits crawling with worms, because the battle for the soul of a united humanity is as brutal as the battle of men.

Bring back the idea of justice throughout the world and make common decency a promise to which we should ALL aspire, a common decency we prove as well as expect.

Mr. President. It is your time. We need you to be stronger, to believe in common sense as much as wisdom. Russia is at its weakest. China will lose faith in its little brother. We can save thousands and thousands of lives. Yes, we may lose some of our own, our children, fathers mothers, but what is America about if it cannot show the world that democracy for those who want is our to protect.

Let’s protect Ukraine in a way the world will understand. Thank you for bringing together our European friends, for making us close, trusted and trusting.

Together let’s send the worms into the soil.
