Whisk the Goodness of Cinnamon Raisin French Toast
An easy-breezy breakfast treat

I have this habit of meal planning. At times I even think of what to cook for tomorrow’s dinner, though I am behind 24 hours. I will open my fridge or kitchen cupboard, staring at the items aimlessly to put a menu together, be it any meals.
There are days where I am completely blank and in search of what to cook for my family. I would struggle to find something I like, and I may get lost in the pool of my thoughts on what to cook; that’s really stressful because time is ticking, and yet I don’t have anything on my mind.
That is where french toast always does the trick. When I have trouble finding something, then I will go for a simple toast recipe. Usually, I make simple french toast using plain bread.
Recently I tried this Cinnamon Raisin french toast for a different taste. Together, everybody hits the like button; hence I am sharing it.
Ingredients for 6 toast
Preparation Time: 6 minutes & Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
6 piece Raisin bread
1/4 cup thickened cream
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 Tablespoon cinnamon powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Optional
Full cream milk or fresh milk to adjust the consistency
Maple syrup
Condensed milk
Spreadable butter
Preparation
- Heat a stainless steel pan, skillet, or griddle pan on low-medium flame.
- Meanwhile, whisk all the ingredients together well in a bowl for 3–4 minutes. The batter should blend well in medium consistency.
- Spread 1/4 teaspoon butter in the pan.
- Dip one bread at a time and dip it right before to place it in the pan.
- Dip both sides of the bread for about 5–6 seconds. Let the bread immerse in the batter, but not too much. It’s to prevent sogginess.
- Place the dipped bread on the heated pan for about 1–2 minutes. Flip the bread and cook the other side for about the same time.
- Transfer them immediately, not to dry up.
Now the kitchen smells like buttery cinnamon, signals you, sets your table, and ready to serve and eat.
Notes
- Enjoy the Cinnamon Raisin French toast with a cup of coffee, let the sun shine upon you.
- Always enjoy toast when it is warm.
- Serve the toast with butter and Maple syrup or with butter and Condensed milk. I second the latter.
