Summary

The website content argues that spirituality precedes science and suggests that the spiritual realm is beyond the scope of scientific evidence.

Abstract

The article titled "Where’s the Spirituality to Back Up Your Scientific Claim?" posits that before the advent of science, there was Spirit, which created the universe and all within it. It emphasizes that spirituality, being the original state of existence, does not require scientific validation, as it is akin to expecting to see all of the ocean's inhabitants by looking into a small bucket of water. The text suggests that the spiritual world is vast and creative, requiring an open mind to comprehend. It criticizes the demand for scientific proof of spiritual matters, comparing it to denying the existence of sharks in the ocean because they are not seen in a bucket of water. The author concludes that spirituality is about embracing the unknown and that there is much more to existence than what is visible or understood by science.

Opinions

  • The author believes that spirituality is the foundation of existence and was present before science, implying that it holds a more fundamental truth.
  • Spiritual matters are considered to be beyond the reach of scientific inquiry, and thus, should not be judged by scientific standards.
  • Demanding scientific evidence for spiritual beliefs is seen as a limited perspective, similar to drawing conclusions about the entire ocean based

Spirit and Science

Where’s the Spirituality to Back Up Your Scientific Claim?

In the beginning, there was no science

In the beginning, there were no microscopes and telescopes. The lab equipments hadn’t been thought of. The lab itself hadn’t even been built yet. The scientists were still dust on the floor.

But there was Spirit and all the spiritual things. There was God and his wisdom. There was air and there was nature. There was the sky and the starry hosts. There was the earth that bore all the different kinds of plants. There were all kinds of animals — the birds of the sky, the fishes of the sea, and the animals that walk on dry ground. When the first man and woman were created, science wasn’t there.

Spirit was.

So if Spirit was here first and created the universe, then doesn’t that make Spirit the evidence?

Think about it.

Instead of asking for scientific evidence for spiritual matters, shouldn’t we be asking what Spirit thinks about everything?

Demanding scientific evidence for spiritual matters is as silly as fetching some ocean water with a bucket, not seeing any sharks, and concluding there are no sharks in the water.

I get it. Not everyone thinks like that and it doesn’t matter. Spirit was here first.

This is why it baffles me every time someone can’t believe spirituality and needs scientific evidence to believe. They say spirituality is way out there and therefore ask for proof.

I laugh every time.

Of course, spirituality is way out there.

It was way out there when Spirit separated water from water. It was way out there when Spirit made a vault and separated the water above from the water below and named it sky. It was way out there when Spirit said let there be light and darkness was no more.

That kind of creativity is way out there.

That’s why it takes an open mind to be able to expand so big to wrap your mind around it. If you can’t be open-minded, you’ll never get it. It’ll be too much for you to wrap your head around.

You have to be able to transcend earthly thinking. You have to expand big enough to hug the skies. You have to ascend so you can rise above and hover over it all to really see.

There’s no scientific evidence here on earth to explain God. There’s none to explain the angels. Science could never understand the concept of spirit guides.

But just because science can’t understand it doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Demanding scientific evidence for spiritual matters is as silly as saying God doesn’t exist because you can’t see him anywhere. It’s as silly as fetching ocean water with a bucket, not seeing any sharks, and concluding there are no sharks in the ocean.

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Spirituality is way out there and that’s why it takes an open mind to be able to expand so big to wrap your mind around it.

We have two options.

We can either open up our minds to understand the things that are literally way out there or settle for the normalcy that is way down here.

It’s a choice.

We are spiritual beings having a temporary human experience. This life isn’t all there is.

There’s so much more we don’t know or see yet. There are sharks deep in the ocean even if there’s none in the bucket.

Science has only discovered the tip of the iceberg. There’s way more way out there that we haven’t discovered and will never discover as long as we have this physical body made of dust.

There’s more to this life than we can see with our two physical eyes.
