Where Would We Be Without Creativity and Inspiration?
There is much more to life than work, sleep work-Repeat cycle
What would the world be like without creative people? The ones who make us laugh and sing, the ones who inspire and enlighten us, the ones who illuminate the dark recesses of the soul and bring us out into the light of love, of truth, of serenity.
Life was not meant to be lived on a shallow stage of commonly accepted ideas, routines set in stone, and no spark of hope of any change for the better. The human brain is a very complex organ.
The human mind regulates our ability to think, feel, and conduct physical activity. Is this all there is?
No, no, no, a thousand times no. Creative people are the ones who tap into the spiritual side of humanity. They may paint, play music, write, or carve stone or wood into breathtaking pieces of art.
Paintings and sculptures are expressions of people’s inner feelings, their desire to communicate, and to bridge the gap between living life to the fullest instead of enduring mere existence.
The ancient Egyptians fashioned small representations of their gods and goddesses, built mighty statues like the Sphinx around 2500 BCE, and constructed massive pyramids to showcase the power and religious connections between this world and the next.
Music has been around for at least 30,000 years. Archeological remains of primitive instruments have been found to date at least that far back.
It is an abstract way to communicate, to make people feel better, to mark and denote religious, ceremonial, or joyful functions.
Music today has become almost a lifestyle for both the players and the audience. Look at all the Deadheads that followed the band on endless road trips for years, just to share in the communal spirit and the joy of living.
What were the first cave painters’ thoughts when they etched their crude renderings of the animals and events they encountered in their daily lives?
Why did they trace their hands, or paint abstract patterns on their cave walls in vivid colors approximately 20,0000–50,000 years ago? Communication? Entertainment? Boredom?
We will never really know, but many people think they were expressing their certain knowledge that there was more to life than hunting and gathering, eating and sleeping, sex and reproduction.
If we flash forward to more modern times, people still make sculptures, paint, write, and play music.
They do it to express their creativity, their emotions, and inner feelings through the power and majesty of their works of art.
Writers use words as their tools and fashion them into stories, novels, or poems. It is the written version of the desire of some artists to record their innermost feelings, deepest thoughts, and most intimate and passionate emotions.
Their goal is to communicate, provoke, and inspire, to please and empower people. Chaucer, Shakespeare, and Milton are considered three of the best and most widely read authors in the Western world.
We are all more than the sum of our parts.
We all have a deep desire to express our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is an overwhelming, deep-seated drive to share the innermost parts of our being with others.
We are all seekers, we are all dreamers, we are all poets. Some of us are just better than others at expressing ourselves through more than mere verbal communication.
But there is no special area reserved for those who feel the stirring of the deepest parts of the human psyche inside of them and wish to express it. We all have this power in varying degrees and skill levels.
It is all part of being human.
What would the world be like without creative people?
We will never know, because we are all creative people. We are all connected…
