Where Can I Get Some “Real”?

Is there any left?

We are living in an illusion perpetrated by the media… and others.

The country we live in today has turned into some kind of a cesspool of ugly fantasies. It is demanded that we believe what is not.

The truth has been hijacked and the ransom is unpayable.

I look for some “real”, but the shelf is empty.

Eighty-two-year-olds taking selfies in the mirror expecting us to pay attention, wanting us to think the image is something other than what it really is. An act of desperation. Extreme fear of irrelevancy in old age.

Yeah, the wars, all of them, are going great… all of them. Just need more money for the real win.

Two hundred and fifty bucks a week for groceries and I grin ear to ear on my way out the door. Good economies manifest themselves in such perverted ways these days. It’s a dream world.

I went to Canada last summer. When crossing the border back into the US, I had this warm and fuzzy feeling as I sat in a line of traffic for an hour to show my passport and answer a bunch of questions. I think they wanted to make sure I was who I said I was… or something. I didn’t realize our borders were so secure?

Oh, and while visiting the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, I realized that I was the only Caucasian in the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd I was wading through. Just another warm and fuzzy feeling.

It also occurred to me that the very diverse crowd ogling the US side of the river may not have been quite so interested in the spectacle of the falls as they were in what the other side of the river represented.

And talk about warm and fuzzy feelings… I live in a sanctuary state. The governor just had to beg for more money, lots of money, to house all the unfortunate asylum seekers that showed up unexpectedly. The state ran out of room, and money, but that’s okay because the governor has a “Plan B.”

The tax-paying residents of the state who have empty spare rooms in their homes can open them up to the unhoused, regardless of who they are or where they’re from.

That sounds pretty real to me. Did I just find some real?

There is no phrase warmer and fuzzier than “safe and effective.”

I’ll leave quietly with one more warm and fuzzy feeling that continues to settle in. Happy New Year!

In the last few days I’ve read some of those New Year’s predictions we all see. Talk about real. If half of this stuff turns out be true I may never need to look for “real” again.

The one that caught my attention was from a “trusted voice” in the mainstream media. She shared her fear that a so-called “black swan” event would take place prior to November. Really?

Okay, so the media wants us to believe them. Is that pure speculation, or is her fear grounded in some knowledge about a planned event?

We know the entertainment industry is tied closely to those who are managing this magic show we are watching. The same industry whose sole job is to pretend they are some character other than who they really are.

Speaking of movie making… the Senate conference room? Huh?

This is some movie we are living in. Really.

When’s the intermission?
