Where Are All The Medium Writers On Twitter?

Let’s start a Medium writers Twitter movement… anyone down?

I revamped my Twitter a while ago with the plan to use it to promote my writing, but that didn’t quite work out. Twitter hosts a diverse group of writers, from self-published authors to bloggers to veteran authors who have been traditionally published. I’m following quite a few of them, and many of them are following me back, but I’m not seeing many Medium writers. I admit my following is small and so when I do share my stories not much comes of it. So I stopped sharing. I know a few of my followers are from my Vocal community but most of my followers are writers I came across using the hashtag #writerscommunity who followed me back. But there’s such a huge population of writers on Twitter it’s hard to feel part of a community.

For these reasons, I’m finding it hard to be consistent on Twitter. I want to change this. I want to use my Twitter to not only promote myself but my fellow writers.

Last week I got two shout-outs on Twitter from Medium publications that have published my work recently. That was a remarkable honor, but because I hardly use the app, I almost missed it. So now I’m motivated to get back on Twitter and connect with more writers. And I would really love it if more of the writers I follow are Medium writers.

If you want to increase your Twitter following or just want to keep up with me I am @nathalie_clair1 on Twitter. The link will be in the text box below along with my other social media handles.

My plan is to share a few of my favorite pieces that I read throughout the week. I haven’t been reading as much as I want to because I’ve been writing so much trying to complete this 30-day writing challenge, but this is my last article for that.

In the month of November, I am dedicated to reading and supporting more writers on this platform and sharing some great articles on Twitter. If you’re genuinely interested in supporting each other let’s connect and support each other on Twitter #writersofmedium or #mediumwriters (we’ll figure it out lol… which one do you like?). My hope is that everyone will follow each other and share at least a few articles/stories by fellow writers that they really enjoyed. Spreading the word can only bring about good karma. If you’re interested leave a comment with your Twitter handle! I know there are a dozen ways to share someone’s work, but why not Twitter? Plus there’s the added bonus of being able to have direct conversations if you have an idea and want to collaborate with someone.

Update: I created a list/group on Twitter called Medium Writers Collection. Once you follow me you’ll see it as a pinned post. Leave a comment on the pinned post so I can easily be reminded to add you to the list. Then you can follow the list to see everything that your fellow Medium writers share. If you pin the list on your own page the tweets from the group will be in their own column separate from all the tweets from everyone you are following. Please be sure you are also following the individuals on the list. I’m excited to see how big we can grow!

As always I absolutely appreciate every single person who took a moment to read this ❤ Thank you for your support! See you on Twitter!
