When’s The Best Day to Publish on Medium? (An Experiment)

I want to find out which day of the week is the best to publish on.

The idea is pretty simple.

There’s some gossip floating around in Medium circles: the first few hours of an article’s life are the most important. Apparently, if you get high engagement in the first few hours of an article’s publication, its growth will be significantly quicker.

If that’s true, you need to know two things:

1. When’s the best day to post?
2. When’s the best time to post?

So, for the next 7 days, on my first account, I’ll be posting an article at the same time every day: 8:00 EST.

All articles are:

• About learning tarot
• Tagged with the same 5 tags
• Queued in the same publication

The only way they differ is their length. I couldn’t do much about that. Hopefully, it’s not such a big deal to the Medium algorithm Gods.

Next week, I’ll vary publication times to find the best time of day to publish.

I published this article today at 8:00 EST. It’s gotten 15 views and 14 reads in 5 hours. That’s pretty good! Here’s hoping the other 7 articles do just as well.
