Whenever You Hold Me
A poem about the importance of a warm embrace…

Whenever you hold me,
I feel safe and secure.
The whole world disappears,
And there is only here and now.
Whenever you hold me,
I forget all the darkness.
I feel lightened of my burdens,
Because you share my load.
Whenever you hold me,
I feel like myself again.
The woman that you love,
Not the broken thing I hate.
I wish I could carry you,
My treasured linus blanket,
Have you with me every day,
To keep the bad at bay.
Because whenever you hold me,
My lightness comes back.
As you soothe all my darkness
And take it away.
