When Your Heart Shows On Your Face
A lady said, “If I was that ugly, nothing cruel and thoughtless would be coming from my heart.”

In Jamaica, many people say, ‘Ugly people must be kind and nice.”
I accompanied someone to the Clinic yesterday and was shocked at the behavior of the Aide who was rude and disrespectful to the sick who came to see the doctor.
First, you must be there two hours before they open at 8:00 AM, to get one of the fifteen numbers they issue to see the doctors.
That person got #3.
I called her Helga.
She demands after degrading and belittling the sick that no one will enter the clinic without a mask.
She wore none while issuing orders.
Which shocked everyone.
Jamaica is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases. The Ministry of Health is warning everyone to wear a mask.
Someone forgets to tell her that she must lead by example.
She is a healthcare worker. She should know better!
She questioned everyone and directed them to where they should go. She was also in charge of doing their weight. Instructing them where to do their blood pressure, where and when to register, and when to go in to see the doctor. She was loud and kept using foul language, even in the presence of children and the elderly.
Manners and respect mean a lot here.
Still without her mask.
None of her instructions were said with kind thoughts or a positive attitude. Nothing that came from her mouth shared love, understanding, or consideration for the sick.
No one said a word loudly and a few mumbled under their breath.
Reading the pain and distress on the faces of the ones who stayed inside, my heart breaks. This is a place for the sick. They are in pain with a worried heart awaiting hope, good news, and a possible cure for whatever ails them from a doctor.
Most have no money to fill the prescription that they will get. It was a free clinic.
No one was smiling.
Yet, this Aide was torturing them with her nasty attitude and negative energy.
Many blood pressures went up, including the person I accompanied. I heard people complaining after having their blood pressure done.
Is she aware of the damage she is doing? I wonder.
Some stayed outside in the heat, listening for their names to be called, because they didn’t want to look at her face or listen to her rants as she cursed everyone.
She was also loud, so you had to hear her.
A lady said, “If I was that ugly, nothing cruel and thoughtless would be coming from my heart.”
Another adds, “we now know that her face matched her heart!”
If love and kindness come from the heart, the cruelty and thoughtlessness that was spewing from her, where was it coming from?
This thought was frightening. True too because her actions aren’t coming from a place where love lives.
Have you ever met anyone whose face, matched their heart?

Or the opposite? Yes, some people have ugly hearts. In others, their hearts are empty, closed, or damaged.

I had to hold on to the person I accompanied because she wanted to slap the ugly off her face after she was rude to her when attempted to weigh her.
Do our hearts show on our faces?
What about you?
Can someone read your heart, just by looking at your face?

A place where the sick convenes needs positivity. Needs kindness, compassion, gentleness, hope, consideration, understanding, love, patience, and everything that will heal and help. These people are battling poverty because it’s a Free Clinic. Many are elderly.
Wherever you are, don’t allow anyone to read your heart from your face in a negative way.
One smile can warm a cold sad heart.
