When You Need A Break Enjoy The Land Of Elephants

I was missing for a week

When you need a break enjoy the fun

I was missing for a week and went to the land of elephants.

The national animal of Thailand is the elephant.

I thought of all my friends at Medium.

The break was great fun and everyone should take it once in a while. What did I do?

I took a guided tour to Thailand and went with a group of forty people. This was not my first visit.

I had been to conferences and every experience in Thailand has been great. The people are very welcoming and greet you with love to their country.

This time the people traveling together were all senior citizens and can you believe that they were younger than many young people?

You will be surprised to know that there was a couple who was 85 years old and could not see too well. His eyesight was weak. The couple walked and wanted to see everything together.

Another couple where the man was 82 with a heart condition and his wife was celebrating her 75th birthday. They specially made a trip to celebrate it.

One couple where the lady was in a wheelchair having survived four paralytic attacks. It was amazing to see her husband taking care of her as if she was a flower and would shed her petals if he left her.

Travel with the oldies and you will realize why people say old is gold.

They have much to shine and everyone needs to learn how to enjoy life from their experiences. One wonderful piece of advice to inspire people.

A peek into Thailand

Thailand is a Southeast Asian country. It is a paradise for a vacation. I saw tropical beaches, the king’s opulent royal palace, ornate temples and marble, and golden Buddha.

I traveled to the beaches of PHI Phi Island, Phuket, and Pattaya. I will share the visits to each of these amazing places.

Bangkok is the capital city. It has a past glory as the ‘Venice of the East. I just saw it as a very modern city with high-rise buildings. Everything about the city is decorative and somewhat opulent.

It has many attractive places to visit like Madame Tussaud, SeaWorld, Safari world, and the king’s palace.

Siam was the original name of Thailand on 23rd June 1939. It was renamed the Kingdom of Thailand. It is a country in Southeast Asia, located at the center of the Indochinese Peninsula.

The Thais are mostly Buddhist and they love their Royal family. We could hear chants of long live the king everywhere and we heard from the local people that the king supports his countrymen a lot.

King Vajiralongkorn lives with his fourth wife Suthida Tidjai the Queen of Thailand. He is the tenth monarch of the Chakri dynasty, he is called Rama X.

How the break was wonderful for me?

  • It reinforced my belief that everyone in life has challenges and they can certainly be surpassed with an attitude that you can make or break in life.
  • A calm and happy disposition to join the fun with everyone and try not to be a burden by learning to be independent.
  • To be part of a group and adjust to each other’s needs and help each other in their travels. In other words, it helps you to learn group dynamics. It also gives you perspectives of people from different angles.
  • It is an inspiration to learn from people’s experiences and how they surpass challenges in life.
  • You learn so much from each other. In this group, many people came to me to learn how to take photos from a simple phone camera. I thought I was a novice but I did enjoy telling them how to look at different angles and lighting to get pictures. I in turn learned new recipes from other people.

Growing old is humbling and it takes effort to accomplish this stage of life with dignity.” ― Kilroy J. Oldster

To wrap up

I am back my friends, I have missed you, and thank you for your wonderful messages on emails and Twitter and private notes. It felt good to be missed.

I will soon be reading and catching up with all the posts I have missed of yours. Thanks to all those who read my posts while I was away.

I did not have a laptop and the tour operator kept us so busy that I was busy sightseeing and watching shows from 7 AM until 11.00 PM at night.

Life is beautiful do enjoy it! Live, love, and laugh! Each moment is precious.

When you need a break do consider Thailand the land of the elephants.
