When you ask me to talk My mind chitter-chatters But my lips stop

When you ask me to walk My heart races But my legs do not

When you ask me to smile My eyes follow But my mouth stays numb

When you ask me to breathe My soul finally feels alive But I forget to catch my breath

When you ask me to feel Each cell of my body gets energized But my skin gets anesthetized

When you ask me who I am My heart knows all the answers But I still feel lost and jammed…
