When Two People Meet
A new story begins
Where to go from here, Left, right, or out of sight, From the busy atmosphere, Honking cars and flashing lights,
As I stand at this crossroads, I see a woman with a yellow rose, A grin spreads over her face, Perhaps I’m meant to stay,
Together at last, Evolving from our past, With a song leaping in our hearts, And a journey for us to embark on,
This intersection where we meet, For a cup of coffee down the street, Let’s walk together down this road, As we share stories with one another, Stories untold,
It’s no accident that we met, In the middle of our crossroads,
Perhaps this moment is all it takes, For her rose to be captured into my curious thoughts, One of which I will later reflect on,
Just like those who I care about, Who I didn’t necessarily choose, Our paths somehow intersected, And now she’s a person I can’t afford to lose.
A poem about the possibilities when crossing paths with a stranger.
