WALKING ROUTE 66
When Things Don’t Go As Planned It Is The Best
That’s when you meet angels and miracles happen.

I looked at the map on my phone. There is a Love’s Truckstop in Rollo, my next destination. It would be a good stop for the night, or so I thought.
I thought the Truckstop was on the west end of town, but it was on the east end. That wouldn’t work, but I had the whole day in front of me. I decided I am going to go into town, take care of some things I needed to, and close out the day at Anytime Fitness on the farther side of town.
Surprises and Delights.
As soon as I came out of the truck stop, and I had hardly taken a couple of steps when I saw this lady make a beeline towards me. A beautiful hippie, about my age, reached me and said, “Could I have a hug?” I never turn down a hug, even if it is offered by a man. She took one of my flyers and went into the store, and I headed toward the town.
Randi Armstrong and I have been friends for four years now. She is a beautiful soul living in harmony with nature.

As I headed toward the town, it started to drizzle, and then turned into rain. I had to shelter inside a donut shop. The lady working in the donut place knew the town like the back of her hand. She gave directions so I didn’t have to deal with ups and downs and I could work my way to where I needed to go strictly downhill.

When I was done taking care of the things I needed to, I headed toward Anytime Fitness and took the wrong turn. I had learned by then that a wrong turn is never wrong. It’s just my higher self taking where I didn’t know I needed to go, which was a print shop that I passed and then instinctively turned toward.
The address read 1111. In numerology, 1 means affirmation. I went in and had 400 flyers made for less than what I had paid for 200 earlier. It never ceases to amaze me.
When I got to Anytime Fitness, I met the lady who owns this particular franchise. She was the total opposite of the last one I met a few days earlier. Not only was she willing, she actually showed me the place I could use to rest overnight and be out of the way for the patrons who come in late at night.
Afterward, I went across the street to Wendy’s to get some Chili and Frosty and twist balloons. The manager was too overly impressed with the fact that I was walking from Chicago to L.A. He said he wants to do something like that too.
When I was done eating and entertaining, I went back to the gym to shower and rest.
As I think back and ponder.
Randi, the lady I met at the truck stop, told me later that she saw so much positive energy emitting from me that she had to get some. I am amazed by people who can actually “see” energy. I don’t doubt that I was beaming with good vibes as I walked Route 66 because I was having so much fun, and feeling the bliss.
There are no “mistakes,” and every seemingly wrong move, when seen from the perspective of the “bigger picture,” is exactly what needed to happen, and did. When we learn to trust ourselves, we stop condemning ourselves for making mistakes and start thanking our higher self for guiding us toward our highest good.
Stay blessed and be happy, my friends.
Day 35: We Keep Going (Original blog post).
Just for fun.
Thank God it was a Tuesday.
