A poetry prompt response: creativity

I regret that I have abandoned but I have returned to seek your wisdom.

A numbness consumes me, it is like I am frozen deep inside, my heart does not ache, I see no beauty in the sky. The year has changed but I’ve remained as an empty hollow grave.

Trapped in a moment where melodious voices have abandoned, the sweet sorrows that once sang to me, oh, how I miss their harmony.

I wish I could close my eyes and return to merrier times, but like a bird that cannot fly I feel caged confined.

Have my wings been clipped off? Will I ever regain my voice? Is there an antidote for my affliction? Or is this pain forevermore?

I have often found wisdom within your pages; there is a permanence about you that breeds a flow like no other, no backspace to make amends, sincere ink in every line.

An immortal of recorded notes, your memories outlives us all.

My panacea, my elixir, my ever-faithful confessor; the rhythmic waves greet my ears, perhaps I can sing once again.

I wrote this in response to Jenine Bsharah Baines; the prompt is creativity. I have been going through a creative slump lately; hence writing this was a bit of a reprieve. I also enjoyed dusting off my notepad and going back to basics.

Tagging Carolyn Hastings, a fellow writer searching for that creative spark, and of course, everyone is welcome to participate.

Thank you all for reading, thanks to Jenine for the tag, and a final thank you to Suntonu Bhadra for this wonderful platform.
