When Solomon Was Deep in Prayer
Poetry
When Solomon was deep in prayer, he came there undemanding Anything except the boon of perfect understanding. Not to dominate or harm through diabolic fetter, But to guide his fellow man to serve his Maker better.
To parse out good from evil was Solomon’s fair quest, Or who could govern such a land with so much to invest? Every lord and serving man would have his point of view, And heaven knows the ladies fair would have their viewpoints, too!
Wise he was to choose this boon of pure discrimination, For it’s the only gift that helps in every situation. To see the right and wrong ideas in every person’s mirror Is how the truth at last appears when all the facts are clearer.
To understand what’s happening will give you some relief If bullies armed with group opinion kick you in the teeth. When money woes and nagging foes are order of the day, It helps to know that here below you’ll get another say!
Victims all we are, alas, to fickle fortune’s failings Which will not yield to please or thanks, or whiney ego’s railings. When luck runs out, I must endure with what good grace I can Whatever Fate awaits the chance to mold a better man.
