Opinions

  • The poem conveys a cautious optimism, acknowledging the presence of darkness ("Too trusting in nature; / company received / in spite of dark / auroras.") and the necessity of listening to one's inner voice or nightmares.
  • There is an emphasis on the deceptive allure of excitement ("Excitement attracts / disillusionment, / and I reach the / final step.") and the subsequent realization of unforeseen risks.
  • The author admits to personal shortcomings in evaluating risks ("Risk evaluation is / not my strong / suit.") but retains a belief in the value of the journey ("And I still / believe.").
  • The theme of identity and self-assessment is recurrent, as seen in the lines contemplating the reassessment of one's identity ("This day, now spent silently, / as irresolutely, I reassess / my identity.").
  • The author values the iterative process of writing, suggesting that his pieces are subject to editing and inviting readers to witness his creative process through subscriptions ("Sooner or later, I tend to edit my pieces. Subscribe to my stories by email for the chance to catch my original works, wonkiness and all.").

When Nightmares Speak — Do You Listen?

Too trusting in nature; company received in spite of dark auras.

Requested to share my vision, gradually my journey is lead by the other.

Excitement attracts disillusionment, and I reach the final step.

Without words — a warning against my passions.

Tendrils of pain go unavoided.

I’m reminded once more, in hiding lies salvation, if only until the dice are rolled again.

This day, now spent silently, as irresolutely, I reassess my identity.

Risk evaluation is not my strong suit.

And I still believe.
