When My Eyes Spoke

Their revelation made me cry

I was trying to sleep one night

when I heard someone cry.

I asked who was it

when my eyes finally replied.

Stop looking here and there

it's your eyes who are shedding tears.

I was stunned to hear them talk

but still asked them

what had made them cry?

Your visions’ they were quick to reply.

How so?’ I was still very confused.

’’We are forced to see whatever you see

and you either replay the pain you had gone through

or the pain you can possibly go through.

Both of those scenarios are so dark and depressing

that we cry inside each day. But today we just

couldn't control the tears from leaving us.’’

I asked them, ‘‘why dear, what happened today?’’

‘’You envisioned yourself dead and you made us see you in that lifeless state.

Now tell us, isn't that reason enough to make us lose ourselves.’’

Argh, I felt devastated by their revelation.

I had been so selfish I just realized.

I apologized to them whole-heartedly

and promised to never make them cry.

I promised to never think of what happened in the past

and imagine only the best to happen in the future.

I wiped out their tears, they smiled and thanked me

before closing their gates

and let me slip into a peaceful sleep.
