Summary

Jeff Herring introduces the concept of Stealth Articles, which are designed to inform readers and invite them to take specific success steps, such as signing up for events or purchasing products.

Abstract

In the provided content, Jeff Herring emphasizes the importance of shifting from traditional article writing to what he terms "Stealth Articles." These articles are crafted not just for traffic and list building but to guide readers towards immediate action, such as engaging with a lead magnet or making a purchase. Herring outlines the Stealth Article Mindset, which focuses on encouraging readers to take their next success steps. He advocates for articles that both inform and invite, suggesting that giving away valuable information in micro-topics can lead to readers eagerly investing in one's products and services. The article also provides a practical example of an invitation, offering a free 2-hour masterclass on creating Stealth Articles, highlighting the approach in real-time.

Opinions

  • Traditional articles aim to get found and drive traffic, but Stealth Articles go further by guiding readers towards specific actions.
  • The Stealth Article Mindset is about crafting content aimed at a particular chosen outcome, ensuring that each article contributes to the reader's success journey.
  • Writers should not fear giving away too much information in their articles, as this can lead to increased reader interest and investment in the author's offerings.
  • Instead of heavy-handed calls to action, authors should extend a helpful invitation that naturally leads readers to their next success steps.
  • The article suggests that a gentle, informative approach is more effective than aggressive sales tactics, using the metaphor of "rubbing cheese on your neck" to illustrate the latter's undesirability.

Profitable Article-a-Day Tips

When is an Article Not an Article?

And this is NOT a trick question…

Thanks for dropping in for this article training. I’m glad you’re here.

Up until now, you’ve written articles to get found, drive traffic, and build your list, right? And that’s a good thing.

From now on I’m suggesting you write what I call Stealth Articles. One of the key components of Stealth Articles is to inform and invite.

More on that in just a minute. But first, let’s look at the Stealth Article Mindset:

The Mindset

This is a small and subtle shift that makes all the difference. The purpose of every Stealth Article I write is to get the reader, listener, viewer to take their next success steps. This could be signing up for a lead magnet, signing up for an event, or buying something for you. You want your article to be aimed at the particular chosen outcome.

The good news is when you do this right, your reader is already beginning to think:

How can I get more of this good stuff?

Inform and Invite

Stealth Articles inform and invite. Let’s take a closer look at each of these:

Inform

I talk to so many people who hesitate to inform in their articles because they’re scared of “giving away the store.” The good news is you can’t give away the store in a 300–500 word article. And if you could, your store is not big enough yet, and let’s work on that:-)

Very Micro Workshop: Make a list of the micro-topics in your niche. Now make a list of the sub micro-topics in each of your micro-topics. Keep adding to this list and you’ll never run out of article topics that inform your readers and keep them coming back for more, and eager to invest in your products and services.

So go ahead and deliver some next success steps you want them to take right now. Kinda like I just did in the above paragraph. This keeps people looking forward to and coming back to your articles.

Invite

Don’tcha just hate it when someone hits you with a hard and heavy call to action like:

“Get this now. It will solve all your problems! And hurry, because there’s only 3 left and it might be taken down soon. And if you don’t get it you and your family will starve!”

Sure, you know I’m exaggerating here, but you also know it’s not by much…

Instead, you want to extend a helpful invitation to take their next success steps. For example:

To help you get started creating your stealth articles, you’re invited to a free 2 hour stealth article masterclass where you’ll create your first (or next) stealth article with my live coaching when you visit here.

By the way, not only is that a good example for us, it’s an actual real life invitation to you. And isn’t that better than rubbing cheese on your neck?
