When I was Young
In response to Chirag’s prompt Carnival

I can’t remember The last time, When I went to a Carnival I guess, I was about 12 Or maybe 13
But I still had a vivid memory Of all those lights And my younger self, With my loving father And my younger brother, Riding all those rides
All the fun That we had And all the joy That we relished I still had images in my mind; Life was as beautiful as a dream
But it’s not about the carnival It’s about the time When I was young And had dreams — bigger than life — Of conquering the world And reigning supreme
That’s something I really miss today; Being a child, Stupid and naive Longing for things Without a purpose and a derive
Like most of you, I long for those days; Playing in dirt With no worries to cite Life was simple Yet bright
Thank you, Chirag for nominating me for this challenge/prompt.
Sumera Rizwan, I’ll also try to write one on Hope.
My prompt for five chosen friends is Life.
