Welcome and taste of different foods in Vancouver

Vancouver is a multi-cultural city. It is so beautiful and neat. I loved the beauty and neatness of the city.

I love to taste new things when I go to a new country.

My brother and his wife Mona were with their daughter for a few months and that is when I decided to visit Vancouver.

I was welcomed by my niece and the first thing that I asked for was Tim Hortons Coffee.

He made me try several new ice creams as well besides the coffee.

Tim Horton’s is indeed very famous over there and I loved it. My friends from Canada swore by it and when I went to Toronto also lapped it up. My brother was so keen that I taste different flavors as well.

He then made me eat Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, French, and Chinese food.

What did I miss?

I wanted to taste the different kinds of fruit over there.

My continuous demand for fruit made my niece think of taking us to Granville Island for a day.

My Visit to Granville Island

We reached the Vancouver Port and took an aqua bus. This was the first time I went on one and enjoyed it a lot. A bus in the water. It was fun as we stopped from stop to stop.

My brother wanted me to experience the aqua fun and so we took the longest route and we reached the Island by 12.30 in the afternoon.

We walked around and my niece's little girl Mira was hungry. We reached the restaurants.

This was very noisy and had a long, long queue in a long, long hall. There was food from all the different countries. Choose what you want.

My brother asked everyone their choice of food. I said I would eat anything that the others wanted to eat because I did not know how to react in the noisy place.

First of all bubble gum tea was served. It was a strange taste but they seemed to like it. They said that I had to develop a taste for it.

We were 6 of us including the little one Mira. We managed to get a place to sit and it took a very long time to be served.

We decided to share the different dishes to get a taste of each one of them. I enjoyed the onion fritters a lot. They were very tasty.

We ordered more of the fritters and it seemed that there was a never-ending order of the onion fritters in the place as people around our tables were also having the same.

We ended up having icecreams.

Everyone wanted to go to the farmer's market.

There were spices over there.

There were many varieties of fish.

There were vegetables of so many kinds and all fresh.

While the family was buying over there, I was looking around for fruit.

Everyone was looking for me and I was moving around to find fruit.

Then I saw a lot of shops full of fruit. They looked amazing. Some of the sizes of fruit never grow in India. I kept gazing at the fruit.

So much fresh fruit! The best thing to eat. I loved it. This was my Aha moment! This is what happened to me. I celebrated the fruit. Look at my happy face. I was delighted to be among fruit.

My brother clicked a picture of me still eating my ice cream but I was completely engrossed in the fruit. I was so keen to buy the fruit.

I was going to be in Vancouver for another three days but I still bought cherries, apples, pears, strawberries, and peaches.

The size of the peach was very large. In India, we get half the size of the peaches. Everyone offered that I should eat one peach and I said I would go back home and eat it as I was so full of food.

I did eat the peach and it was like having a full breakfast it was so big. I had decided I would finish one at least. It was so juicy and lovely. Every time I took a bite, I would slurp the juice in, and everybody laughed at me.

I loved the pears and apples as well. The rest of the three days were spent tasting and eating lovely fruit.

The cherries were so big, fresh, and bright red. They were amazing and they were very sweet.

Strawberries and cream were my high point.

The next three days in Vancouver were spent eating many different kinds of fruit.

I love fruit so much that my family there took me to a wonderful place to try a peach drink. They said if I did not try this peach drink then I would have not tasted their best fruit drink.

I tasted the peach drink and it was outstanding. Of course, I wanted more of it.

While everybody enjoys favorite foods in different dishes, I enjoyed the fruit in Vancouver a lot. It was indeed my favorite. I savored the taste and still remember my Aha moment with the fruit.

My advice to you is to eat and enjoy Nature’s candy. Pop in fruit. It is a natural diet.

I enjoyed reading a quote on fruit that marks it with reaching the top and becoming successful. It is interesting and I witnessed in the orchards that fruit grows on top of a tree and you have to keep reaching up for them.

“If you really want to eat, keep climbing. The fruit is on the top of the tree. Stretch your hands and keep stretching them. Success is on the top, keep going.” ― Israelmore Ayivor

Thank you JoAnn Ryan for a prompt on food and travel. I still cannot forget the taste of the fruit that I had in Vancouver when I traveled there at the end of June.
