Summary

The website content is an invitation to writers to participate in a weekly writing prompt themed around "Morning/Beginning," with a deadline for submissions set for May 8, 2021.

Abstract

The web content presents a poetic narrative titled "When I Refused to Wake up," which vividly describes the beauty of a morning and the reluctance to leave the comfort of sleep. It uses rich imagery to evoke the senses, from the sunlight piercing the skies to the dew on the windows. The narrative then transitions into an announcement for a writing prompt with the theme "Morning," encouraging writers to explore concepts of beginnings, awakenings, and new starts. The article specifies that stories based on this prompt will be published on Saturdays, coining the term "Spiritual Saturdays." It also provides detailed instructions for submission, including the deadline and the requirement to tag the publication to ensure the story is read.

Opinions

  • The author of the narrative seems to cherish the tranquility and peace of the morning, yet also expresses a desire to prolong the state of sleep and dreams.
  • There is an appreciation for the natural world's morning activities, such as the chase between the cat and mouse and the birds singing.
  • The announcement conveys enthusiasm and inclusivity, inviting a diverse group of writers to contribute to the theme.
  • The publication values organization and timeliness, as evidenced by the specific deadline and the structured publishing schedule.
  • There is a sense of community and mutual support, as the author tags numerous writers and encourages them to engage with the prompt.

When I Refused to Wake up

A morning tale

The bright sun rays are puncturing the skies The dusty clouds are scattering like flies

With audacity, the light’s barging into my room And I can see those glittery pearls on the flowers that bloom

My teeny eye-lids are still hugging each other “Am I still awake or still dreaming?” I wonder

Then I see that the chimneys are smoking, yet again And my ears are deafened by the whistling of the train

The cat and the mouse has begun their chase And the birds are flapping their wings with grace

On the streets, the school-kids are waving goodbye to their Moms While their Dads are focused on the phones in their palms

The hills are peeping, untying their bonnets The cuckoos are singing Shakespeare’s sonnets

I know that the day is fresh and new Ready to embrace me and gift me what’s due

The day has brought a million reasons for me to wake up But, my sleep’s too sweet, I don’t want to break-up

The tears of dew are rolling down my windows Yet I want to sleep a little longer, hugging my soft pillows

Oh, day! Please, don’t start so soon I wish that the moon stayed till noon
