When Hope Is Restored
What would we do without hope in our life?
Hope springs eternal is more than a feel-good catchphrase. It is the belief, a mindset in a way of life that will get us through so many problems and pitfalls in the society we all live in. Without hope, life is not worth living.
Hope is the delicate tightrope we all walk in life. It bridges the gap from despair, loneliness, and darkness to relief, unity, and the lightness of being.
Hope is the universal currency we all believe in. It doesn’t matter if we are homeless people living on the street, patients in a hospital, or refugees washed up on the beach of psychological desolation. Hope sets us all free.
Hope is the wellspring of all human aspirations, the shining light that illuminates the darkest paths, that gives us the courage to keep on keeping on against all odds.
It is the foundation of life as we know it.
No matter how slim the chances, no matter how difficult the journey, hope is the bright, shimmering light at the end of the tunnel.
It is the clarion call to resistance against the vagaries of life, the origin of a thousand dreams, and a source of joy to all of us as human beings.
Hope fuels our aspirations, inspires our dreams, and infuses our souls with the magic and light of dreams and realizations.
If you are down and out, you can still nurture the bright flame of hope deep within your tortured body and drug or alcohol-addicted mind.
Hope will keep you alive until you are able to summon the inner courage you need to act decisively in your own self-interest. When the time comes, you will know it and you will have the courage to act on it.
If you just have hope you will somehow, some way be able to wean your strung-out, addicted body from the curse of chemical dependence or calm your inner psychological fears so that you can work your way back to sobriety.
To come home again and be the whole person you were meant to be.
Patients in a hospital are sometimes told by doctors they have an incurable disease, but through the power of hope, they are somehow able to make a miracle recovery. It happens every day and has no logical basis.
It is an emotional belief, and because they nurtured the hope inside their souls it manifested itself into a miraculous cure.
Hope is like throwing a lifeline to a drowning man, showing a soul wandering in the darkness a beacon of light or the sudden appearance of a way out of a seemingly impossible situation.
Hope isn’t an emotion. It is a way of thinking, a state of being, a mindset. You can teach it to yourself, you can pass it on to others, and you can demonstrate it by taking a single step toward your goal.
Without hope, there is no way out. Without hope, we are doomed to stay trapped in the same situation. We just need to take that first step.
Without hope, we are shipwrecked vessels on a stormy sea, lost souls wandering in a hell of our own making, or fearful beings defeated and abandoned in the most nightmarish landscapes of our own minds.
With hope we can transform ourselves into happier, healthier versions of our true selves.
With hope, we can cross raging torrents of water, climb impossibly high mountains, or cure ourselves of whatever negative emotions are dragging us down and holding us back.
It’s all up to us. The lifeline of hope is within easy reach of all of us. We just need to believe in hope, believe in life, and believe in attaining the joy that is our birthright.
Hope springs eternal is more than a feel-good catchphrase. It is real, it is vital and it is attainable.
We all need hope. We all need love. We are all connected…
