A personal poem about a time of loss

Watching the first of the tears Falling from your eyes And trying my best to keep it together I don't have the answers For the evils in life Silence is all I can give you tonight

You take my hand and look in my eyes Lean to my ear and you whisper, "why?"

When everything’s broken Nothing makes sense Be still and know Cry out to Jesus Help us to heal, just Don’t let go Cause I am not strong enough now

The words cut in deep, they were sharp Just like a knife Sometimes the thought brings me straight to the floor We live and we lose, that’s the nature Of this life And I’m not quite sure what we’re still here for

You take my hand and look in my eyes Lean to my ear and you whisper, "why?"

When everything’s broken Nothing makes sense Be still and know Cry out to Jesus Help us to heal, just Don’t let go Cause I am not strong enough now

The world is so hard to understand right now So painful we barely feel alive You take my hand and look in my eyes Lean to my ear and you whisper, "Why?"

But I am not strong enough now
