Eyes on the road taking in the vista whilst driving from Golspie to Wick one early morning — a poem.
Morning meditation, open road revelation.
Travelling close to the edge
the crisp morning sea view from my left window twinkles,
blue magic.
The early Sunrise has cast its net for the day
capturing my optimism and imagination.
As the road gently steepens
the space between me, the edge and the sea
almost demand an appearance
Something? is missing.
a morning welcome? a roar?
From Poseiden perhaps?
or someone similar.
But perhaps that’s an addition too far.
Optimism and imagination rebalance…
“Dear soothing sea”, I whisper
“How lucky am I to see this breathtaking coastal view? “
I revel in the beauty of this morning's drive.
Gratitude and wonder follow as the clear blue sky and open sea continue.
