When An Invasion Is Not An Invasion
Will we consider this the beginning of the next world war?

By the time you wake up and read this, it’s likely that WWIII will be close.
2.22.2022 Is An Auspicious Date
This is the date Biden announced official sanctions against Russia in response to its troop movements.
“He’s setting up a rationale to go much further,” Biden said.
Other members of NATO, including the EU and Canada, followed with sanctions of their own.
Putin authorized the movement of troops into the separatist-controlled Donetsk and Lugansk, cities in the country of Ukraine. He justified this movement by saying they were peacekeeping troops, to support their independence from Ukraine.
It’s a diabolical tactic and it’s not the first time it has been used.
Russia has been warned many times not to invade Ukraine. So he created another way to move his troops in.
Echoes of WWII
At the start of WWII, the Nazis justified the invasion of Poland by falsely reporting that Poles were persecuting ethnic Germans.
Putin is doing exactly the same thing today. He is justifying his invasion of Ukraine by falsely stating that Ukrainians are persecuting ethnic Russians who live in two specific regions of Ukraine.
The two regions are the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic. Together they hold more than 3.5 million people, who have been living in the middle of an armed conflict between Kyiv and Moscow since 2014.
Putin has recognized these two regions as independent of Ukraine. Then he moved in Russian troops, despite being warned not to by members of NATO.
As of tonight, February 23, 2022, there are reports that Russia has issued a Civil Aviation notice, closing almost all of Eastern Ukrainian Airspace near the border.
Europe’s top air traffic authority has urged airlines and other civilian flights to stay away from Ukrainian airspace.
There are reports of explosions in Kyiv and Kharkiv, a reporter for CNN reported them live. The Interior Minister of Ukraine, as an advisor to CNN, told them the explosions they heard in Kyiv are missile strikes. The explosions are coming from the direction of the international airport.
Tonight Putin announced that he authorized a military operation in Donetsk, saying it is to defend people who have been suffering persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years. It’s a copycat move, one that the Nazis used at the beginning of WWII.
The UN called an emergency meeting to discuss the developments and many of its members called for calm, stressing the urgency of the situation and the need for a diplomatic solution.
In the meantime, Russian troops are headed to the border, and Ukraine and its allies are all on high alert.
“President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering.” US President Joe Biden
Defenders of the Fatherland Day
Putin may have chosen this day, February 23, because it means something to the Russian people. This day is The Defenders of the Fatherland Day. This day honors the nation’s military.
Early morning, the air raid sirens are going off in Kyiv and the Ukrainian president announced that they are under attack by Russia.
They’ve attacked military infrastructure and borders in many cities. He imposed martial law in the country and warned people to stay home if they can.
Putin also threatened Western countries who have sent troops to reinforce NATO and have imposed economic sanctions.
“I have a few words for those who could feel tempted to interfere with ongoing developments: whoever tries to impede us, let alone create threats for our country and its people, must know that the Russian response will be immediate and lead to the consequences you have never seen in history.” Putin
Is that a threat of nuclear escalation?
Updates to come.
