What’s With The Circles, Medium?
A well-deserved rant.
JUST when I was getting used to Medium, you ruined everything. Okay, maybe “ruined” is not the right word — CHANGED everything!
First, the home page got all screwed up. I still can’t decide if I like it or not.
Then the copyright clause. THAT upset a lot of writers.
But today is SOMETHING ELSE. I log in and see this.

WHAT IN THE HELL?
What is this Medium?
What’s with the circles?
Apparently, they’re not circles. Here’s an excerpt from Medium’s article on ruining the logo.
The symbol, like our illustration style, is inspired by language and typography. It is born from the ellipses: a punctuation mark that represents an unfinished or impending thought, an idea to come, what’s next. This is, again, what happens on Medium — there’s always a new idea, always more to the story.
Medium, I understand you are trying to be different. But this is not an ellipsis.
What was wrong with the “M”?
WHY?
I don’t know how to feel about this.
It looks like one of those 1990 games with bad graphics.
I know I will get used to it. Maybe, grow to love it even. But my first reaction — just STOP!
Take a well-earned vacation, and stop ruining the platform…
