What’s The Best Day to Publish Stories on Medium?

I have a new strategy to end this debate once and for all.

I previously spent a good amount of time trying to figure out the best time to publish a story. I’d look at the day of week and even the time. Awhile back, I wrote a story on that. I jotted down trends and tracked a bunch of my stories to gain a sense of the pattern.

Through my investigations, I decided Tuesdays and Saturdays were bad days to publish. So I avoided publishing a lot on those days for awhile.

Let’s fast-forward a few months. My strategy has completely changed!

Who cares about the time of day or day of week? I publish whenever I want. Sunday? Sure. Summer slump? Who cares? (👏🏻 👏🏻 hits the publish button with no hesitation 👏🏻 👏🏻)

My mindset changed. The important thing for me is to keep publishing.

I don’t worry about time zone differences or the day of week anymore.

The only thing I focus on is keeping consistent. I publish as frequently and consistently as I can handle. I do avoid leaving a big gap between posts.

I changed my strategy because I don’t want to be restricted by time or day.

What if I have a time-sensitive story that would be great to publish, but the only caveat is that today is a Saturday? If I followed my previous strategy, I’d have to skip posting it. I’d never know, but I would probably miss out on views and reads that may come in on Saturday. Even if it’s not a lot.

My philosophy is to publish sooner rather than later. The best day to publish is all days of the week.

That means my stories can start earning faster! This is especially so if there’s a hot topic trending. You need to jump on that train and publish when the news is still circulating like wildfire, no matter what the day is.

Although I follow this new strategy now, I still believe it’s important to keep your publishing schedule under control. I need to make sure I can handle it without burnout. Right now, about one story per day is perfect for me.
