Our stories here can scare, mystify, disgust, inspire, or even fascinate the reader.
My name is Meghan and I an obsessed with a good story. A good short story specifically has always been my favorite fiction form. It amazes me how some authors can craft a complicated and thoughtful tale with just a handful of pages. I find them so hard to write, though, and since joining Medium a year ago I’ve worked hard to develop my writing into the kinds of stories I enjoy reading.
I created Fascinate Me Fiction initially to provide a platform for fascinating short stories, particularly for my own sci-fi series, but with plenty of space for other genres and other writers’ fascinating perspectives.
Are you a fan of the works of Edgar Allan Poe or Nathaniel Hawthorne? How about Ray Bradbury or Isaac Asimov? Do you like watching TV shows like Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone? Short fiction that makes you go huh, and finds you sitting for a moment with a new perspective to consider — that’s an experience I can’t get enough of. I like being fascinated by reading stories that lead me to thoughts about the nature of the universe and my place in it, stories that make me wonder what the future might bring. These are the kinds of stories we hope to bring to our readers.
When I say ‘we’ I mean me, and my wonderful group of writers. The most fascinating thing about Fascinate Me Fiction by far is the writers!
