What’s Hard for You but Easy for Others Is What You Are Made for

I am not mad, bro. Oh, wait maybe I am.

You already know what you want, have to do, or are made for.

Self-help gurus just make it complicated so you pre-plan to keep 97% of your monthly earnings budgeted for them no matter whatever the hell happens to you or your sweet family.

That’s business. You know it but fear to understand it.

Here’s how to make everything clear as Donald Trump’s hair.

It’s hard for you to stop thinking about that thing.

You can’t live without it. Everything feels suck without finishing that thing. That’s the thing you are made for.

Thinking about that task feels like making some kind of progress and it feels good.

You can’t think about the task no matter what. Thinking about it feels relaxing. This happens because you feel like making progress. To make progress is to know your life doesn’t suck.

Here’s the biggest hack: Thinking equals acting because you are still making progress and you are better understanding whether this is what you are made for.

It’s hard for you to quit that thing.

When I have to quit an idea I thought for writing, I can do anything to not have to quit it. It’s hard to quit.

It also hard for me to quit writing. I am writing. Writing is me.

It’s hard for you to take money for that thing.

You are most likely not going to take money from what you love. Taking money from something means selling that thing and you don’t want to sell your passion or what you love.

This is why I write mostly on Medium so writing feels less like selling.

It’s hard for you to not worry about other things with that thing.

I was fascinated with programming. All I ever wanted to do was build an app so I am richer than Facebook owner uncle. That’s selfish.

When I found my true purpose, writing, everything changed. All I now want is to make an impact. Money is secondary. The impact is all I care cause it’s rare. Writing my thought out is how I want to impact people.

That’s why you have to try more things.

With more things you try, you get a better idea of what you are made of because your values start getting clear.

It’s easy. Slowly experimenting with things besides your “safe” job or studies is easier than you realize. I have my “safe” studies (I’m 17) and I slowly experiment so that my life sucks less on my deathbed. You can do the same.

When The Idea Meets With Fear, The Idea = Purpose

It’s hard for me to not write.

The writing was just an experiment to increase our downloads at a startup I joined at 15 with zero skills. The writing was an idea. Now I fear not to write.

You fear quitting something you love because you have a greater purpose with that thing: You fear not being able to add value to people’s life.

If you can’t stop thinking about something, that’s your thing. If you can’t quit something, that’s your thing. If you don’t want to charge for something, that’s your thing. If you aren’t selfish with something, that’s your thing.

Something easy for others but hard for you is what you are made for.

I’m not smart. Life makes me smart sometimes. I share the lessons with a personal story in less than 100 words for You.

I don’t know when you’ll need me the most so I’ll post whenever I can best. Yes, I collect your email address because I want You.
