What You Can Learn From A Slow Person — I’m A Slow Woman Too
What we need to learn from slow people!
As a slow woman myself, I have barely time to do things that I have planned towards my goals — at least that is the feeling I get. At least, I finish late in the evening to write, do my projects and hobbies.
But I also enjoy what I am doing. I can’t handle the rush in life. That is too difficult for me. I need to slow down and I need some peace in my body. Thinking about a lot that’s on my mind and what I need in my life. But also when I walk in nature, I don’t want to walk fast. I want to see what nature there is. I want to enjoy and capture the moment in my brain, in my memory.
The slow person
A slow person is someone who understands things slower than the average person. Or someone who is not fast in the mind.

Slow people don’t need the rush to find what they want
Slow people don’t need the rush in life to accomplish their dreams and goals in life. They enjoy what’s coming into their life and don’t complain that much about things. Slow people are satisfied with being here on earth with what they have. They take the time in everything that they’re doing. And they’re good listeners.
They love being in nature much more
As I speak for myself, I love being in nature. When I’m one with nature I am in peace most of the time. I heard it often from other people that they slow down more often when they’re in nature. They get more peace. They look around sooner and enjoying a lot more what is ahead.
They need more time to learn new things
Slow people need more time to learn new things. They are perfectionists. When they learn their tests for school or they need a new skill for work they read every letter in the textbook to learn properly what it says. They want to learn everything that it says and need to understand it dully with their full attention.
They’re good listeners
Slow people are good listeners. They take the time to listen to your stories. These are pros if you want to get heard what you want to tell and get the trust of people. They are trustworthy. They have your full attention. And that is a pro for you: you feel you have been heard all the way you told your story.
The look carefully if everything is correct
When they are doing their project, they have their full attention to what they are doing. They do it carefully. They want to do it correctly without making any mistakes. When they are finished with their tests, they look at it three or four times, so they truly know they haven’t forgotten anything.
They’re the last person who finishes things
They always finish things when they’re the last person. When I was in secondary school, I always finished my tests while everyone was finished their tests two decades earlier. I wanted to make the tests very well. Of course, I knew it wasn’t possible and because of that I always couldn’t make the whole test. Most of the time I didn’t make the last exercise. All because I wanted to make the first exercises well and I always went through it ten million times.
Doing their projects takes more time
When you have a project, or whatever you’re doing, it takes more time to finish it in the first place. You just want to do it very well and without any mistakes. So it takes more time to finish any project, article, or whatever you’re working on. Everything must be perfect.
They think more deeply and don’t go for small talk
Slow people are deep thinkers. They think about a lot of things going on in their life, work, or whatever they are doing. They don’t like talking about the weather, they want to talk about subjects that mean something to them. That is worth thinking about.
They’re an artist
When slow people do their thing, they work as an artist. They want to look good, or they want their project to look amazing. When I write my articles and stories, I want them to be perfect. I write, and when I make a mistake, I correct them immediately, instead of making the mistakes first and then — with the second draft — I correct them all at once. That is difficult for me as I want to do it perfectly the first time I write.
They’re a slow eater
Most of this all: the slow person is also a slow eater. They enjoy eating and tasting everything that is in their mouth. And also this time, they’re finished when everyone finished already. That is fine, but sometimes it is also a con. You let others waiting for you. Sometimes, that is irritating too for the other people in the room.
I have lots of these habits. Although I don’t have all of them, it says a lot about how I was in secondary school. How I did my homework, how I write my articles, how I do the dishes, how I want my closet.
Talking about my closet. It is a mess, but when I do things, I do it carefully. I want it to look beautiful. All the bowls with the same height on the same row.
Do we always need to fit into the ‘standard society rules’?
