What You Are Ashamed Of Today Will Become Your Crown Tomorrow

Sometimes you have to walk with a limp emotionally ~Author

What bothers you today or has become an irritant today will be the very thing that will provide you with strength tomorrow. I recently read a story and the writer noted she forgot to shake her shoe out before stepping into it. When she put her foot in one of her shoes there was a scorpion in her shoe.

Besides being horrified I thought what kind of lesson is this? What tip or tool do we get from life when things just happen for no reason? Sometimes I have become so busy with a task I will lose my train of thought and I have begun stepping back when that occurs. I step back because I’m multitasking when I don’t have to and increasing stress unnecessarily.

As I have gotten some age under my belt, and implemented time management and other tools that work for me I have to constantly tell myself, to stay focused do what I enjoy and smile every chance I get. I refuse to allow life, people or circumstances to bully me mentally, emotionally or otherwise.

Most people over a certain age have survived too much to allow life to push them around and we have learned to keep walking while some of us walk with a limp emotionally. I have always had a high admiration for those who have survived any type of trauma emotionally, mentally or otherwise.

I especially appreciate them if the sorrows they have experienced did not make them jaded, mean-spirited or cruel to others. I have seen great sadness and what other people are capable of doing to other individuals. It’s easy to become bitter and isolate yourself.

I constantly put myself to task and show kindness, smile whenever possible and extend my humanity where appropriate because life can leave you with a limp on the inside. I wear my crown of joy every day no matter how I’m feeling on the inside I refuse to let my feelings tell me what to do. I understand when I wake up in the morning I will feel a certain way and by lunch or sooner I will have different feelings emerge.

The thing that may upset you today can be the tool that strengthens you tomorrow. Remember what you enjoy, smile whenever you can and show your humanity whenever possible.
